Environmental and Social Monitoring and Assessment of MHP
Client:
The MHP Group, a major producer of poultry meat, grains, and feed in Ukraine, has been cooperating with the EBRD since 2010. Within the framework of this cooperation, MHP requested services including environmental and social monitoring and assessment of activities in accordance with the core principles of the Performance Standards and EBRD Policy, as well as national and international requirements. The review process included document review, site visits, and preparation of an environmental and social assessment report based on documentation, site visits, and interviews with management and operational staff.
Monitoring the implementation of the Group’s corporate policy and its environmental and social performance at the enterprise level, including previously agreed ESAP and SEP;
Analysis of stakeholder engagement activities conducted by the Group in the framework of project implementation.
Monitoring visits were conducted at individual MHP facilities, relevant documents were reviewed, meetings with management were held, and information on the implementation of environmental and social policies was analyzed. The assessment also evaluated:
Additionally, the assessment included evaluation of compliance and achievement of ESAP and SEP measures, as well as compliance with the EBRD Performance Standards, including a critical analysis of various aspects of environmental and social management at the enterprise level.
