Wind Kroll LLC is a Ukrainian renewable energy developer specializing in the construction and operation of wind power plants. In preparation for the development of a new wind energy project in the Sumy region, the Company engaged AVG to conduct Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) in line with international and national requirements.
The assignment aimed to assess environmental and social risks and impacts related to the land plots acquired for project purposes. The scope was defined by the need to align with:
Ukrainian environmental and social legislation
EBRD Environmental and Social Policy (ESP) and Performance Requirements (PRs)
IFC Performance Standards
Relevant EU environmental directives
Environmental and Social Audit of land plot for windpark construction and Wind Kroll and its operations, with a focus on institutional capacity, documentation, and practices related to environmental and social management
Preparation of an E&S Constraints and Critical Points Report (red Flag Report), which includes summarized findings, impacts, and recommendations for mitigation and compliance alignment
As part of the assessment, AVG conducted site visits to 12 land plots selected for wind turbine construction, and interviews with key company personnel to evaluate operational readiness and stakeholder engagement practices.
