At the request of Diligent Capital Partners (DCP) and the Dutch entrepreneurial development bank (FMO), a comprehensive Environmental and Social Due Diligence (ESDD) was undertaken for Aragvi Holding International LTD (Trans-Oil)—a vertically integrated agribusiness operating across Ukraine, Moldova, Romania, and Serbia. The Group’s operations include crop origination, logistics, oil extraction and processing, and storage and transshipment.
The primary objectives of the assignment were to:
Assess the Group’s existing environmental and social (E&S) policies, practices, and performance
Identify gaps in compliance with applicable local and international standards, including IFC Performance Standards, the Equator Principles, and EHS Guidelines
Propose mitigation measures and required follow-up actions
Develop an Environmental and Social Action Plan (ESAP) with clear responsibilities and timelines
Evaluate the Group’s capacity to manage E&S risks, including reputational risks, and ensure sustainable operational performance
Based on these findings, AVG prepared the following key deliverables:
The ESAP serves as a tool for both DCP and FMO to monitor E&S performance throughout the life of their investment and supports Aragvi Holding in enhancing its sustainability practices across multiple jurisdictions.
